Does Disney Cruise Line Have Drink Packages

A Disney Cruise gives the entire family a magical time. Sometimes though, the adults want a little bit of magic of their own. A glass of wine or a chilled beer at the end of a long, fun-filled day can hit the spot. Read on to learn about the alcohol policy on Disney Cruises.

Is alcohol available on Disney Cruises?

Yes. It certainly is. However, there are some rules and regulations that go with the consumption of alcohol as you set sail for some of the most incredible destinations in the world. Naturally, depending on where you set sail from, you need to be of legal drinking age to hit the bar. Typically, you need to be 21 or older and be able to show valid identification when asked. Trust us! It starts to get flattering when you get asked for ID as you get older. Some European countries have lower legal drinking ages and Disney recognizes this. Disney allows parents or guardians to sign a Beverage Consent Form on cruises departing from any European country with a lower drinking age than 21. The signed form permits any 18- to 20-year-old to consume alcoholic beverages while in the adult’s presence.

Can I bring my own alcohol on Disney Cruises?

It’s always nice to have your favourite brand of alcohol on hand when you feel like a drink in your stateroom. You can carry six beers (12 ounces or less) or two bottles of wine or champagne (750 ml or less) on board. The best part is, you can replenish your stock at every port of call as long as it is within limits. You just have to make sure that it’s in your carry-on luggage instead of your checked-in luggage.

You aren’t limited to opening up a bottle of bubbly or wine in your stateroom. You can drink it with a meal in the dining room too. However, there is a corking charge per bottle.

What about drink packages?

Although there are no all-you-can-drink packages, there are several different offers available when it comes to buying drinks on board that can help you save money.

Wine packages: There are a couple of different wine packages that can help you save on purchasing wine onboard. The Classic Wine Package includes three to seven bottles of wine while the Premium Wine Package includes the same but with higher-quality wine.  You can either ask your server to look after your bottles of wine for you between meals or take them back to your staterooms to enjoy there.

Beer mugs: Purchasing Disney beer mugs from the Onboard Gifts and Amenities area of the Disney Cruise Line Website or once you’re on board can help you get a better price on draft beer as you cruise to your destination. The mugs also make great souvenirs to take home with you to remind you of all the good times you had on the ship.

Can I get anything other than beer and wine?

You can purchase spirits and cocktails from restaurants, bars, and lounges on board your Disney cruise. A fun way to try new drinks is by choosing the Drink of the Day. It also saves you a bit of money.

Pro Tip: A great way to enjoy a quiet drink is in one of the adults-only areas of a cruise like the Quiet Cove area where you can relax, soak in the sun, and enjoy a chilled adult beverage of your choice.

With incredible destinations, including the Mediterranean, Florida, Alaska, Europe, the Bahamas and the Caribbean, you can enjoy adventures on and off the ship.
